State of Decay 3 update: almost 6 years after the reveal, still no release date, but closed tests are starting and you can get into ALPHA by invite. 🧟♂️
Philip Holt's interview: the game is set years into the outbreak, the threat has evolved and the focus shifted from lone survival to building and upgrading bases. Crafting is deeper for bases and weapons, combat is tighter and more responsive, there's on-site permadeath, and the team mixes sandbox freedom with authored characters. Co-op supports up to 4 players on dedicated servers; May alpha signups are on the official site. Undead Labs worked with The Coalition and Obsidian, and Holt confirmed the reveal trailer was mostly concept, not all ideas (no zombie-deer) will ship.
