🚀 The Free Lanes update makes Starfield actually fun: supersonic interplanetary jumps let you walk the ship during transit, but random Interdiction ambushes can yank you out of travel.
Progression gets a facelift: X-Tech lets you reassign legendary effects, unlock a new item tier and upgrade ship systems at the Ship Optimization Terminal. Starborn leveling no longer requires NG+, use Quantum Essence, and a special device moves selected gear between runs. Also incoming: the Moon Jumper ground vehicle, asteroid-base housing, 27 Colony War Action Heroes with stat perks, Constellation/Neon skins, enemy mods like Tank/Tricky, resource containers and unified DB at outposts, pet Milliewhale, new station Anchorpoint Point, stealth ship modules, an elite crew member and extra quests.
