⚡️In early builds The Division was pitched as a classic MMORPG that largely copied World of Warcraft's systems, basically a potential KILLER with guns, the devs at Massive Entertainment admit. 🔫
But during prototyping the team took a radical turn: they dropped fantasy, embraced a realistic setting and rebirthed the project as a hybrid looter‑shooter. That risky rethink paid off, by 2016 the game attracted millions and carved out a unique identity for the franchise.
