Dead by Daylight

⚡️The Dead by Daylight team says the new killer's prototype is nearly playable, further tweaks will be driven by testing and player feedback.

At the heart of the kit is the "Sin" system: rather than passive gain, Sin now builds when the killer lands hits on survivors, making it more skill-dependent for both sides. Sin fuels Ray of Retribution, a vertical beam the killer can aim and fire; it blends area control with pinpoint pressure. The ability has gone through several iterations and remains subject to change.

Devs noticed players want these moods to stick around, in the next Hunter/Prey phase Nightfall bits (including VL-7 Smoke and the night mode) will land in Portal, so they can be used outside limited events. The team is monitoring feedback and is considering bringing these features back or folding them into permanent systems to broaden gameplay variety and give players more room to experiment.
