Tom Henderson

😬 Tom Henderson says Ubisoft CANCELLED the voxel sandbox Alterra, an Animal Crossing‑style builder that Ubisoft Montréal had been developing for almost three years.

The shutdown was announced Tuesday: teams were sent home, no mass layoffs, devs moved to an internal reserve, while partner studios are left in limbo. IGN asked Ubisoft, but the company dodged confirming Alterra and instead pointed to the remake Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced, premiering April 23, 19:00 MSK.

Valve

Valve moved Counter-Strike 2 to AnimGraph 2, not a visual tweak but a full rebuild of motion: transitions, model responses to terrain and smoother knife animations.

The tech upgrade trims CPU and netcode load, yields a modest FPS bump and noticeably snappier MOVEMENT in the classic CS:GO spirit; silent-stairs and grenade-render bugs were fixed, and early crash issues got a quick hotfix. ⚡️

Black Flag Resynced

Not a remaster, a REMAKE Black Flag Resynced ⚓️

A leaked Ubisoft presentation confirms this is a full overhaul of Assassin's Creed Black Flag. Modern Animus segments were rewritten to be more personal and tied to Edward Kenway's experiences. Instant desync is gone, failing tailing missions now funnels you into combat and costs some dialogue instead of kicking you out. Combat has shifted to faster, non‑RPG action; actor Matt Ryan mentions kill chains, interactive environments and a parry system. The UI is trimmed for quick weapon access. Launch without multiplayer or old DLC is set for 9 July 2026. Full presentation comes this Thursday.

Kotaku

🤨 Kotaku argues in its Pragmata review that the devs intentionally sexualized the child-shaped android, Diana.

Women-led critics point to key design choices: no shoes, an adult-beauty face grafted onto a child body (big eyes, soft features). Capcom defended the look with story reasons, which reads like an admission they knew it was controversial. Kotaku's takeaway: the industry is stuck in a place where any kid in a narrative triggers fear and calls to erase them from media. WTF 😬

Netflix

🔥 Netflix dropped a fresh trailer for season 2 of Devil May Cry, all about the showdown between Dante and Vergil, packed with action and dark humour.

Plot: a war between worlds, Vergil is corrupted by Mundus, and Dante must face an equal foe and his own inner demons. Release on May 12; adaptation is led by Adi Shankar. BRUTAL

Marauders

⚡️ Marauders, the space extraction shooter from Small Impact Games, is back in the spotlight: devs admitted the silence was a mistake and announced a full reboot after Steam online dipped to 60 players. This isn't a minor patch but a ground‑up overhaul of core systems; the next step is a community tech stress test. No release date yet, it's the first big update since August 2024, and fans are banking on a proper REBOOT 🚀

RUINER 2

⚡️RUINER 2, cyberpunk chaos is back: Reikon Games just dropped the first gameplay.

Set in the grim megacity Rengkok, where corporations even took away people's right to die, the sequel adds a big twist, the Shell System. Now you can hack enemy bodies into controllable "shells" and build your own squad. Devs promise the same furious pace of the original, but with a much bigger arsenal and deeper tactical options. WILD

Vampire Survivors

Fans are buzzing: the card spin‑off from Vampire Survivors, Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard, is out now 🃏

Studio poncle dropped a turn‑based roguelike deckbuilder that already has 98% positive reviews on Steam. Build nasty combos, blaze through monster‑filled dungeons and master the ТУРБОХОДА™ mechanic to steamroll foes, it's WILD.

Alien: Rogue Incursion, Evolved Edition

👽 Alien: Rogue Incursion, Evolved Edition is out on Nintendo Switch 2 for $19.99, and a PS4 release is coming SOON.

On Switch 2 the game uses detached Joy‑Con as a mouse, just pull the controller off and place it on any surface and the mouse mode turns on automatically. The story sits between Alien and Aliens: marine Zula Hendrix and her synthetic partner Davis‑01 must survive a secret complex crawling with xenomorphs. The original launched in December 2024 on VR; the Evolved edition was later adapted for PC (Steam, Epic), PS5 and Xbox Series for monitors and TVs. Our reviewer Maxim Zakharchuk says that without VR the game turned into a fairly ordinary horror‑shooter.

Build a Rocket Boy

Bosses of Build a Rocket Boy are being sued, alleged real-world spying on MindsEye devs with Teramind installed on home PCs 👀

The studio, founded by veteran Leslie Benzies, faces a post-launch 2025 lawsuit: staff say the tool recorded keystrokes, screen and mic. CEO Mark Gerhard blames "corporate sabotage" and even teases an in-game mission with "evidence". The union calls the workplace TOXIC and demands compensation over illegal surveillance and the firing of 300 employees.
