🕹️ Atari has bought Implicit Conversions, a studio that ports games from the PlayStation era and other RETRO platforms.
They bring an in‑house emulator, Syrup Engine, capable of running titles from 8/16/32‑bit systems (supports seven consoles now, including the original PlayStation, with PlayStation 2 planned). Implicit already teamed up with Atari's Digital Eclipse on PS1-era versions; Atari (which acquired Digital Eclipse in 2023 and earlier absorbed Nightdive) is building a reissue ecosystem, studio head Bill Litshauer says the teams "found each other": cooperation started long before the deal and grew into a full partnership focused on careful preservation and faithful ports.
