⚡️Public test for Fallout 76 has rolled out a major update: Protect Appalachia, with the spotlight on new endgame content and Infestations.
Infestations are special events where enemy factions seize familiar locations, replacing normal mobs with buffed variants and spawning an elite boss, and they aren't marked on the map, so you'll have to hunt them down. Bosses guarantee three‑star legendary gear with chances for rarer rewards (LOOT). The update also brings unique weapon/armor mods with unusual effects, seasonal fishing (first is a summer series with new recipes and its own resource loop to be expanded across four seasons), a camp pet, an armor-wear rework, stronger radiation effects and increased explosive damage vs armored targets. Available now on public test servers via a separate Steam client; test progress does not carry over to live.
