NAKWON: Last Paradise

Nexon delays the post‑apocalypse: NAKWON: Last Paradise is now due in 2027

In its latest financial report the company confirmed a slip from an expected 2026 launch, the team wants extra time to polish the game. The Steam demo looked solid, but Nexon brought in Embark Studios (makers of ARC Raiders) to help tune the extraction mechanics for a global audience and improve the title's chances of international success.

Marathon

⚡️Marathon is gearing up to follow Arc Raiders, upcoming patches focus on balance and reworking combat feel.

According to Joe Ziegler, shield domes, the knife, thermals and sniper rifles are being toned down; Vandal and Recon will get buffs. For SOLOS and PEACEFUL players there's a new item to improve survival after falls (a cheaper/faster alternative to slow self-res), plus a hinted "more merciful" player interaction that could let you avoid mandatory kills. Patches are due soon.

Nintendo

⚖️ Nintendo got a provisional rejection in the US for a patent covering a companion-summon mechanic, the patent office found similar prior filings and called the idea not original. 🤔

The company filed in March 2023; the patent was initially approved in September 2025, but a November recheck reversed that stance. The decision isn't final, Nintendo has two months to respond or appeal. This sits against an ongoing dispute with Pocketpair over capture/summon mechanics in Palworld, where the studio has already altered gameplay elements.

Farming Simulator 25

🚜 Farming Simulator 25 went to school, Tokyo Metropolitan Agricultural School used the sim as a digital twin of real farming.

Students trained on full sim rigs with controllers, eye‑tracking and a curved screen that mimicked a cab, picking crops, planning production and testing strategies for labour shortages, climate risks and falling incomes, all without financial risk. One student even managed to drop a tractor off a cliff. The program is part of a research project, and early results suggest the sim can actually help train future professionals.

Grime II

🎮 Grime II has landed, a full sequel from Clover Bite backed by Kwalee. You once again control a shapeless MIMIC that absorbs defeated enemies to gain their abilities. You can even summon a fallen foe mid-fight, and that same trick helps you pry open hidden routes in the game's branching levels. Out now on PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series with Russian text; Steam rating, 88% (Very Positive).

The Last of Us Online

The Last of Us Online was canned despite being about 80% finished, says director Vinit Agarwal.

Agarwal spent seven years on the project and learned it was axed just a day before the public reveal. He pins the decision on a shift in Sony's strategy: around 2020 the company pushed live services during the pandemic, but interest faded and leadership ultimately picked a single‑player game led by Neil Druckmann. Naughty Dog now focuses on a sci‑fi title. WILD 😢

Dave the Diver

🤖 The creators of Dave the Diver have officially admitted they're using generative AI for localization, it's even flagged on Steam.

That doesn't mean an AI takeover: every line is vetted by human editors before release. The move was likely driven by player complaints about inconsistent translations and a need to cut costs. The studio says it's following an industry trend, trying to speed things up without turning text into garbage, and the final say remains human. 🤖

MENACE

MENACE just passed 250k copies sold and shipped a sizable content update: two missions, fresh weapons and gameplay tweaks, HYPE 🔥

One mission has you taking out a pirate leadership including a rare captain whose unique gun and armor drop ONLY from him; the other drops players into tight urban alleys to inject altered DNA into alien eggs, making fights way more intense and friendly-fire-prone. The update also adds planet-specific props (desert ruins on Mock), 7 new weapon models, infantry can now tear through wire barricades mid-mission, and the patch is compatible with existing saves.

Valve

👀 Valve pushed a BETA of the redesigned Steam storefront, the main page is WIDER with bigger screenshots, a flexible layout and autoplay trailers on hover (can be turned off).

Hover cards now show a short description, why a game is recommended and a review summary; recommendations load faster, and blocks highlight wishlist discounts and DLC for owned titles. How to join: PC, Steam → Settings → Interface → opt into the client beta → choose Steam Beta Update and restart; Steam Deck / Big Picture, Settings → System → Beta testing → select BETA and reboot. Valve already widened game pages late last year.

Stormgate

⚠️ Stormgate is losing online features after its server host was bought by an AI company, partner Hathora will stop services at the end of April 🤖

Frost Giant Studios warns matchmaking and other netplay will be disabled as server capacity is likely repurposed for language models/generative AI. A patch to enable offline play is planned but undated; bringing online back depends on finding new partners. WILD. The RTS launched in early access on PC in 2024, hit 1.0 a year later; Steam score sits at 48%.
