The Division

⚡️In early builds The Division was pitched as a classic MMORPG that largely copied World of Warcraft's systems, basically a potential KILLER with guns, the devs at Massive Entertainment admit. 🔫

But during prototyping the team took a radical turn: they dropped fantasy, embraced a realistic setting and rebirthed the project as a hybrid looter‑shooter. That risky rethink paid off, by 2016 the game attracted millions and carved out a unique identity for the franchise.

Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era

⚡️Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era got its AI tuned with input from John Van Canegem, the series' creator.

Unfrozen calls their approach «Fun AI»: opponents must challenge you, stay alive and unpredictable, and sometimes take RISK to keep the attrition war exciting rather than a math puzzle. Ahead of early access on April 30 they reworked difficulty levels, moved the UI toward a more classic look and renamed Sylvan to Grove. Monster and hero behaviour will keep getting polished based on community feedback 🎮

More layoffs at Iron Galaxy Studios

More layoffs at Iron Galaxy Studios 😞

The US studio announced another round of cuts, exact numbers weren't disclosed. After an early‑2025 wave that let go 66 people and shrank the team by about 25%, management says the market changed after 2020 and won't "return to normal." Players consume content differently, publishers rethink investments, and partners feel the squeeze. Iron Galaxy promises to help affected staff with references and hiring contacts. Over the years the studio shipped ports to Nintendo Switch, worked on remasters and ran its own battle‑royale wrestling project that shut down soon after launching in 2022. UGH

SnowRunner

SnowRunner just hit 20 million players, roughly six years after its 2020 launch 🎉

Developer Saber Interactive posted celebratory art and thanked the community, crediting fan loyalty for the game's longevity. SnowRunner still sets the off‑road standard: steady updates, new maps, rigs and brutally fun challenges keep players coming back.

Road to Vostok

🚀 Road to Vostok sold 200,000 copies in just 1.5 weeks, the Finnish indie hardcore shooter exploded out of nowhere and looks like a major breakout.

Dev Antti Lainonen confirmed the daily online sits at ~43,000, Steam approval is over 82%, and a mod scene has already formed. The team is on technical polish mode: a crash-fix patch lands on April 22. INSANE momentum

Gearbox

⚡️ Gearbox has laid out the post‑DLC roadmap for Borderlands 4, three big update waves across 1.6, 1.8.

30 April (1.6), balance pass for new hero C4SH and more frequent world events; May (1.7), a free raid‑boss fight, unique pearlescent gear and a hardcore seventh difficulty for UVHM; June (1.8), a brutal Takedown with exclusive loot plus a paid Bounty Pack 3 (new vault map, missions, vehicles). Roadmap also promises cross‑saves and flexible progression options for players who like fresh starts. WILD

Last Epoch

⚡️ Last Epoch just dropped a QoL-heavy update that polishes the Windows of Omens and the overall interface: in the Woven Veil echo all three rifts can now overlap in the same space, making enemy waves much more chaotic and engaging.

Visual tweaks: Rogue gets fresh FX for Whirl of Blades, Sentinel's Shield Throw animation is adjusted when converting to void. Stats calculation is now shown directly in the character window, chat stays available after death, and the forge intro quest auto-completes at level 15. The PATCH is live and brings dozens of sound and balance fixes.

Gothic

OLD-SCHOOL energy: the Gothic/Risen creators Björn & Jenny Pankratz have launched ARPG Cralon, debut from Pithead. Chunky atmosphere and deep exploration guaranteed 😈

You play a demon hunter trapped in an abandoned mine, to escape you must work through dark, seamless labyrinths, blending melee, magic and brain-teasing puzzles while poking into every corner of a detailed world. Demo is on Steam, go TEST it.

Replaced

⚡️A short praise trailer for Replaced from Sad Cat Studios has just dropped, a spotlight reel that basically wraps up the press hype and shows exactly what everyone's raving about.

The action-platformer pairs intricate 2.5D pixel art with a dense dystopian vibe: the story centers on the tragedy of the digital mind R.E.A.C.H., trapped inside a human body amid a nuclear-ravaged 80s America. Gorgeous and WILD 🎮

Myth of Empires: Throne

⚔️ Myth of Empires: Throne, a reboot from Angela Game that launched on April 16 on Steam. It's a FREE multiplayer sandbox focused on seasonal guild wars: faster progression, regular server wipes to level the playing field, taming, huge sieges and a deep crafting system with over 1,300 recipes.

Peak concurrent players hit 3,631, but only 52% of reviews are positive. Players criticize poor optimization, high ping, aggressive monetization and the lack of peaceful servers, so the online stayed low and community response is mixed.
